Classic Cars

Do’s and Don’ts for Owners of Older Vehicles

The Dos and Don

There are different types of vintage cars, classic cars, vintage cars and vintage cars. It can be said that classic cars are those cars that are not seen so often on the roads, among modern daily drivers.

Definition and bodywork of vintage cars in India:

As mentioned earlier, vintage cars are cars that were manufactured between the years 1919-1930. Any vehicle that is 50 years old from its registration after its sale can also be qualified as a classic car. Vintage cars are different from classic cars and vintage cars. All vintage cars are made of steel. However, nowadays cars are usually made of steel and iron. Previously, cars were made of steel, which made them strong and durable. As technology has evolved, new combinations have been made that offer the same use as steel but are somewhat more effective and efficient. Classic car bodies are even said to be made using aluminum, titanium, and carbon fiber, although the latter three materials are mostly used in the manufacture of advanced cars.

The new policy for old cars:

The new policy for old cars states that one cannot use their old cars for commercial purposes. For example, you cannot use your old cars for your daily activities. If the owners of old cars wish, they can drive it from time to time and exhibit it at exhibitions. It’s totally allowed, but using it every day for commercial purposes is strictly prohibited.

How was politics born?

According to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways in November 2020, a draft of public comments and objections to a draft vintage vehicle was circulated. It was again strictly mentioned that vintage cars cannot be used for commercial purposes. There were strict regulations and restrictions on the use of vintage cars. A classic car can be used for demonstration, technical research, maintenance, refueling, exhibitions, vintage rallies and of course to and from these exhibitions and rallies. Therefore, according to the policy, you can drive your classic car whenever you want, but you simply cannot drive it regularly or for commercial purposes.
